About the Role

We're looking for a Podcast Editor & Shorts Creator to help us turn podcast episodes into high-quality long-form content and highly engaging short-form clips.

You’ll be responsible for editing full podcast episodes and extracting viral, high-retention shorts from each episode.

We want our podcast content to match the quality and storytelling of shows like:

  • Open Residency

  • D2C Diaries

This means clean, modern editing with strong pacing, engaging visual elements, and short clips that are designed to perform on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

This role is perfect for someone who understands content, storytelling, and social media — not just editing.

What You'll Do

Long-Form Podcast Editing

  • Edit full podcast episodes for YouTube and Spotify

  • Clean cuts, pacing, and flow of the conversation

  • Add simple visual elements when needed:

    • titles

    • speaker names

    • subtle animations

    • sound design

The goal is to keep the podcast engaging and easy to watch.

Creating High-Performing Shorts

From each podcast episode you will:

  • Identify the best moments

  • Cut them into high-retention short-form clips

  • Optimize them for:

    • TikTok

    • Instagram Reels

    • YouTube Shorts

This includes:

  • Strong hooks in the first 1–2 seconds

  • Fast pacing

  • Dynamic captions

  • Zoom cuts / visual emphasis

  • Clean modern design

We care about clips that people actually finish watching.

Content Optimization

  • Spot moments that can go viral

  • Structure clips for retention and shareability

  • Package ideas into multiple short-form pieces

One podcast episode should generate many high-performing clips.

What We're Looking For

You’re not just an editor — you understand content.

You likely:

  • Have experience editing podcasts or social media content

  • Understand short-form storytelling

  • Know what makes clips perform on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts

  • Are strong in pacing and retention editing

  • Have a good eye for modern visual style

You are comfortable using:

  • Premiere Pro

  • Final Cut Pro

  • DaVinci Resolve

  • After Effects (bonus)

Bonus If You

  • Already edit creator podcasts

  • Follow Open Residency / D2C Diaries style content

  • Understand viral clip formats

  • Have experience turning long-form content into short-form content engines
